Each of the 33 caches is named for a Manitoba community. Most are traditional caches. Two are multi caches where the final is hanging in a shrub directly across the road from the given coordinates. (Read that last sentence again to be sure you understand.) Ten of the caches are puzzles. There are ditches to cross and they may occasionally be wet or snowy - dress accordingly. Above all, we encourage you to enjoy this beautiful area with its multitude of kettle lakes (prairie sloughs) and the critters that call them home.
The city of Thompson was once a single industry nickel mining town that became the hub of Northern Manitoba for government and health services and for retail sales. Recent additions of cold weather testing facilities and the nearby Wuskwatim hydroelectric generating station have added stability to this city north of the 55th parallel.
