Geocache Description:

This cache is in Coffin Bay National Park and a 4WD vehicle is needed to reach it.

The Coffin Bay National Park is at the southern end of the Eyre Peninsula. Part of it is reachable by conventional motor vehicles but the cache is in the area where one needs a 4WD to get there. Part of the experience is the drive along the 7 mile beach which is not passable at high tide. Therefore you need to be aware of the tides before embarking. There are a few camping grounds beyond the 7 mile beach and provides a pleasant experience for a weekend trip. The cache is at the Reef Lookout which has an excellent view of "the reef" with breakers over it as well as scenic views of the coastal cliffs. Well worth traversing on the established 4WD track to the area. Not recommended for fishing as the cliffs are high and fragile. Watch out for the children.  Also care with going too close to the cliff edges as they can be undercut. Particularly in summer watch out for snakes etc.  The cache is a small cammoed grey plastic container with a few exchangeables.
