Each of the 33 caches is named for a Manitoba community. Most are traditional caches. Two are multi caches where the final is hanging in a shrub directly across the road from the given coordinates. (Read that last sentence again to be sure you understand.) Ten of the caches are puzzles. There are ditches to cross and they may occasionally be wet or snowy - dress accordingly. Above all, we encourage you to enjoy this beautiful area with its multitude of kettle lakes (prairie sloughs) and the critters that call them home.
The community of York Landing, located along the eastern bank of the Nelson River, is home to the York Factory Band of Swampy Cree since the 1950s. Served by an airport, the village is also accessible by road and ferry in summer and winter road when the ice is thick enough.
