Geocache Description:

A small sistema placed outside the boundary of a local history society and museum.

There are wonderful local history associations and museums all over the country. The Gold Coast and Hinterland Historical Society Inc. has premises in one of the streets off Bundall Road and is easily accessible. It is a complete change from commercial areas and high density housing even though it is close to such areaas. However it is only open to the public on the first Sunday of each month so if you want to visit keep that in mind. Check the website for Museums and Galleries in South East Queensland (shown above) for more information. There are some wonderful sights, a replica pioneer cottage, and a marvellous garden of original native vegetation that lets you see what was growing here before white settlement. There is significant indigenous history too in this very place. When I placed the cache I spoke to members who had no objection to my hiding the container outside the fence. Of course it would be wise to make sure you are not seen when you retrieve or replace the little cache. There is a sliding metal gate so you can expect the cache to be outside the gates and fence. From time to time gardeners will tidy the area so please make sure you leave the cache container so it is not easily visible to pedestrians.
