Following the Shuswap Mass Cache Dash event, we will be organizing a general cleanup of the area. If you can make it, then please consider sticking around and helping us leave the whole area as clean as possible.

Although this CITO follows the MCD2013 event, it is not just a quick cleanup following the event: we want to do our part and clean up this entire park and surrounding areas. As this is a busy tourist spot in the summer, despite the city's efforts towards providing waste bins, it's not uncommon to see garbage in the park and even on the pier.
The area that will encompass the CITO will be the waterfront area stretching from in front of the Prestige Inn (the walkway by the Osprey nests) to the start of the nature trail. This area is important to both migrating and perament populations of birds and other animals, and as it is such a scenic area, we want to do our part to get out and make a difference to preserve it's serenity and scenic resplendence.
The CITO will get underway at approximately 8:30PM following the MCD wrap-up and prize giveaway at 8:00PM. You can find more details and the complete itineary here.
If you want you can bring some old clothes and gloves, but usually the sort of trash that is expected in this area doesn't necessarily require them. If you have some garbage and/or recycling bags that you can bring, please consider bringing a few extras and passing them around. If you wish you can bring hand sanitizer, and there are also public washrooms adjacent to the event area.
