Pioneer Cemetery is a long forgotten grave yard. In 1982 Port Jefferson trustees got tired of mowing around tombstones so they were all dumped into one gravesite. With the help of the local Boy Scouts the tombstones was laid out on a prepared pad. Stones were found with 1830 date on them and one was found of a Civil War veteran. This cemetery was used until 1900. Respect the grounds surrounding this cemetery. NOTE - Please park at the following Cord's and WALK to monuments and GZ. N 40 19.936 W 84 05.397
