This next quarterly meeting/gathering of the Heartland Geocachers will be held at Jailhouse Pizza in Brandenburg, KY at 125 Main Street at 6:30 PM.
This one is being held a little further north than most of the recent gatherings but the food is great and the location unique.
I moved into this area just shy of three years ago. Turtle and the other longtime cachers of the Heartland area were quick to make me feel welcome at the gatherings. THANK YOU!
When Turtle first started the Heartland Geocacher the idea was simple; set up a small group of cachers who cache from Louisville all the way down to Bowling Green, have 4 quarterly meetings a year sponsored by a different member using two formats (EZ) A simple format where someone provides a venue for an event and posts it to Geocaching.com . These types of events are usually done on a weekday evening without event caches or door prizes or the (DX) This type of event is your usual full-blown event, usually with event caches and door prizes. This type of event is usually held on a weekend. The idea was simple but at the time the geocaching community in and around the Heartland of Kentucky just did not have enough support to pull it off. So that brings us to present day, a few established cachers and a lot of new blood have set the bar high for a new wave of caches in our area and we are going to give this thing a try again to see how it works out.
We will keep it simple, you can come by and stay as little or as long as you would like to. Bring an appetite and a geo story or two.
