This is the second in our "Fathers Series" It is not reachable by land. You will need to approach by canoe, kayak or other small boat.
On Father’s Day 2012 Team Bones was remembering the three fathers we have said goodbye to over the years. What better way to honor their memory than to place three caches, one for each of them. This is Papa 2, nickname “Paul”. He lost his battle to age some five years ago. He also was a strong Father figure. A true patriarch he spent his life toiling on a dairy farm, raising his family, loving his wife and his Lord. He was the solid example that many of the men of our family have modeled their life after.
He spent little time on the water. Dairy cows and a dairy farm offered little time for recreation. I fear he would find the time we all spend searching for these “things in the woods” a bit wasteful. However, we will pay tribute to his memory.
This is a nicely labeled pill container with only a log. Bring your own writing instrument. Be careful not to drop the container or log. Please do not remove from its hiding location, simply open the container to reach the log. When this was originally placed on Father’s Day I was able to easily reach it from the kayak, however upon returning to secure and check on the coordinates the water level had dropped significantly and would require you to exit your craft to retrieve. The footing will require your caution depending on the rain and water level. Use caution unless you really want to be wet. Sign the log and head for the next in the series. It is a short paddle. When we placed these we paddled a few additional miles and the birding was excellent. Depending on the water level the return trip could afford you a bit of a workout but it is not awful.
