Papa 3 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

jcfbones2: This series has proved very difficult to keep in place, dry and out of harms way. With the water and ice levels of this year it may very well be gone. We are going to archive them for now. We usually paddle this stretch of water once or twice a summer so if we get this way and find them to be safe and sound or at least salvageable we will replace with version 2 (or is it 3 or 4 by now) Either way, thank you to those who came before and found them, hopefully we drew you in to t paddle that you had not done before. It's warming up, see you on the water soon. BONES

Geocache Description:

This is third Father in this short series.  It is water access only.  It is short paddle from the put in.  Use caution when launching your craft. Depending on the water level this is a bit tricky. After replacement for the 2013 season you will need to exit your craft to retrieve this. Be careful or you will find youself wet or injured.

On Father’s Day 2012 Team Bones was remembering the three fathers we have said goodbye to over the years.  What better way to honor their memory than to place three caches, one for each of them.  This is Papa 3, nicknamed “Ginka”.  This man came in to our lives by way of second marriage.  He quickly filled a void that was created after the passing of Papa 1.  He was a true husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He loved to fish and be in a boat.  We only had just started caching when he took ill late in 2011 and passed earlier this year (2012). He enjoyed the concept of geocaching and I am certain had circumstances been different would have appreciated the hunt.  He too is greatly missed.

This is a nicely labeled pill container with only a log.  Bring your own writing instrument.  Be careful not to drop the container or log.  When this was originally placed on Father’s Day we did have to exit the kayak to place this.  You will need to exit your craft to reach the container and sign the log.  The footing will require your caution depending on the rain and water level.  Use caution unless you really want to be wet. The exit is best 10 yards from the final.  Sign the log and head upstream to complete your day or evening on the water.  When we placed these we did paddle a few additional miles and the birding was excellent.  Depending on the water level the return trip could afford you a bit of a workout but it is not awful.
We hope you enjoyed our tribute to our "Papas".

My appreciation to tubimortal for the assistance with setting the coordinates and the co-ownership.
Our Congratulations to Flash Jr. And Flash 777 for the co first to finds. We anticipated that it might be yours for the taking!
