Geocache Description:

This cache is just a quick hop over from the Lanchester Valley Railway walk / cycle path and is easily accessible to most!  Beware of muggles as this area is popular for locals walking dogs. As the cache has been in place for quite a while now it has blended in quite well with its surroundings so i have accordingly upped the difficulty a little as recently i have had several requests for help with finding it.


The cache is hidden in the old recreation ground on the eastern edge of Langley Park. After the first world war a recreation ground was created on the site with flower beds, sporting facilities and the like for people to enjoy, however over the years it has not been used enough and has started to convert back to Lowland heath with heather and other small shrubs. The area is now a Nature Reserve.
When you look for the cache please walk around the site and you will notice two info boards with more information and photos of how the "old rec" used to be. If you look closely you will also see old concrete steps etc around the site giving you a clue to the areas lost history!
