Geocache Description:

RAf Newchurch was a temporary WW2 airfield built along with other airfields inKent in 1943. On the 2nd July 1943 No`s 19 and 132 squadrons arrived by road with the groundstaff and equipment, both squadrons flew escort missions over to the continent for the American airforce daylight bombing missions. BY 1946 it had been restored back to farmland, the buildings you see were the cook house and mess rooms modified to `pig stys` now unused and derelict.
