Geocache Description:

St. Lawrence, Weston-under-Penyard has been standing here for at least 800 years, possibly longer.  The village is also recorded in the Domesday Book as Westune.   Weston became a parish in 1683 during the reign of Charles II.  The church once had a spire but in 1750 it was struck by lightning and as a result it was dismantled.  Like a number of churches it underwent major refurbishment in the Victorian period, 1867 to precise.

The tower houses six bells which are rung regularly with the tenor bell weighing in at a little over 10 cwt.  The clock was installed in 1914 and has two faces.
A history of the church is available inside for a small fee.  This church is also accessed from the North porch and has some rather nice stained glass windows including a window that celebrates the millennium.
The church is usually open daily.  The church now forms the hub of the Ariconium Benefice which comprises six churches.
You are looking for a small clip-loc box in a camo bag.
The cache is best accessed from the churchyard using the pathways.
Thanks to the Rector and the PCC for allowing this cache to placed and to Fish 'n' Rhino for their assistance.

While you are here why not seek one of the answers to the Ariconium Quest (GC4BFMP)?

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats page found via the Bookmark list
