Summary
The second wave of the Blackrock Power Trail continues the journey, this time heading south-east of Blackrock Village and along the Seapoint seafront in the surrounds of the Martello Tower. Cache 12 is on the waterfront of Salthill Park.
The Blackrock Power Trail Series (BRPT)
The series started its life in Idrone Terrace on Dublin Bay behind Blackrock Village and has now spread both north-west and south-east from the original Cache. Caches range from an easy 1/1 D/T through to the hardest being a 3/4.
The rules of Geocaching are such that no cache can be within 160 metres (0.1 miles or 528 feet) of another cache... so you will find that the caches in this series are generally about 200 metres apart from each other. There are also some other caches along the route that you may want to pick up as you go.
The Cache
The 12th cache in the BRPT series is a 9x4 inch metal cylinder in a black camo bag. You will need to leave the grassy area of the park for this one – but only down one level of rocks. And be careful with your footing as a little slip could mean a brisk swim back to the shore. As for the hide itself, GZ is every geocachers dream of where to stash a box… but how far back do you have to reach?
Good hunting!
