Skane’s Crossing is a beautiful picnic area that is hidden on the north side of Riding Mountain National Park. Skane’s Crossing is one of the R.M of Ochre Rivers best kept secrets.
Most of the locals know that it is here and have many found memories of coming for picnics, quading the river, and some more adventurous people rappel down the river banks. Be careful as to which side of the river you drive to the location. The river can be very high at certain times of year and it is not recommended that you cross it. This is a cache that was put out for the Dauphin Canadian Tire Cachefest 2012 hosted by Tourism Dauphin. This is Dauphin's first ever geocaching event! All materials for the caches were supplied by Canadian Tire and were built and put out by local cachers: jabbywockyz, saunderl and pkldbutterfly. All caches have a logbook and may contain a pencil for the small caches. Come and discover what Dauphin has to offer thru geocaching.
