A straight forward multi cache that takes you on a wander around the sights of Claremont Avenue Reserve. Good for kids, dog friendly.
Claremont Avenue Reserve was previously a coal mining site. Most of the coal was mined during the late 1800's and early 1900's. It was also the site of a famous strike around 1900 involving the army.
Plenty of parking is available in Randall Pde and Claremont Avenue.
WP1 is the start, and can be found at S 32º56.866 E 151º43.004. Walk to this location, and count the number of wooden posts in a line on the left hand side of the trail only (While facing the bush from the park). They are in an angled line. Do not count the ones on your right. Let the number of wooden posts equal A. Don't overthink this, just count the ones out in the open. You'll end up with an odd number less than 10.
WP2 is at S 32º56.8__ E 151º43.0__. Fill the first co-ordinate gap with (A x 12) + 3. Fill the second co-ordinate gap with (A x 4) + 5. Walk up to this location, checking out the view on the way. When you arrive, count the number of paths at this spot, including the one you just came from. Let the number of paths equal B.
WP3 is at S 32º56.8__ E 151º43.0__. Fill the first co-ordinate gap with B x 29. Fill the second co-ordinate gap with (B x 30) + 6. Walk to this location. Be sure to keep to the paths. When you arrive, you should find yourself on a bridge. Count the number of steps, keeping in mind that the answer is an even number. Let the number of steps equal C.
WP4 is the finish and location of the cache, and can be found at S 32º56.8__ E 151º43.0__. Fill the first co-ordinate gap with (C x 12) + 3. Fill the second co-ordinate gap with (C x 10) + 1. When you arrive, be sure to check out the way your voice echoes in the cave. Check the hint if you cannot find the cache in this final location.
Cache contains a number of items including a pencil, but bring your own pen just in case.
