Helpohko peruskätkö Viitalan kyläkoulun läheisyydessä


Viitalan koulu aloitti toimintansa vuonna 1907. Olemassaolo oli välillä vaakalaudalla oppilaiden määrän vähyyden vuoksi. Ironista kyllä, koulu lakkautettiin, koska oppilaita olikin lopulta liikaa alueelle suuntautuvan muuton vuoksi. Viitalan koulun toiminta on päättynyt keväällä 2009. Oppilaat opiskelevat nyt Keski-Nurmon koulussa.

Koulun omistaa nykyään Veneskoski-Viitala-Seura ry. Kyläseura on toiminut vuodesta 1988 lähtien, ja sen tavoitteena on lisätä kyläläisten viihtyvyyttä järjestämällä erilaisia tapahtumia ja tarjoamalla harrastusmahdollisuuksia. Rakennus tunnetaan nykyään myös Venestalona ja sitä on mahdollista vuokrata omiin tilaisuuksiin.

The school was established in 1907. During the last decades it acted as a grade school with grades 1-6. Existence was threatened many times due to lack of pupils but ironically school was closed in 2009 because the number of families with children in the region had grown too much. New bigger school is located to Keski-Nurmo.

Nowadays old school building is also known as Venestalo and it is owned by Veneskoski-Viitala-Seura ry. This village community arranges different kinds of events and hobbies for villagers. It is also possible to rent the school building for the private occasions.
