Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the LeTort Regional Authority Nature Trail, which can be accessed from Lamberton Middle School or, for a somewhat more lengthy walk, from the parking area at the end of the trail near the watercress beds off of Bonny Brook Road or the other in LeTort Park.

The mission of the LeTort Regional Authority is to protect and preserve the LeTort Spring Run and its watershed by promoting flood control and developing access and recreational opportunities within the watershed.

The LRA’s goals include the minimization of flooding, improvement of pollutants, the protection and restoration of the natural conditions and amenities of the watershed, and the provision for public involvement and education regarding the use and understanding of the watershed’s resources.

The property is open for hiking, nature study, fishing or just a leisurely walk.  The LeTort and adjacent wooded areas support a wide variety of wildlife such as waterfowl, migratory and songbirds, mammals from mice to deer (including mink, muskrats, and beavers), reptiles, and the famous LeTort brown trout.
