Tinkers Hill # 6 - Arm Jive Swizzle Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ottergirl_fcl: This series has been in place for 5 years so time for a change. Thanks for all who have visited. Sadly the 'Arm Jive Swizzle' move was removed from the Ceroc syllabus some years ago, so the move and the cache have been archived

Geocache Description:

This cache is one in a short series on Tinkers Hill, on the lower slopes of Chosen Hill. The series is numbered in the order I placed them - you can choose the order to fit in with your route!

Tinker’s Hill (formerly Rabbits’ Hill) is a North Westerly offshoot of the larger Chosen Hill, an outlier to the Jurassic Limestone escarpment which lies some 2 km to the east. The Churchdown Golf Course, which existed up to the outbreak of the First World War, was on the lower slopes above the railway line and the Clubhouse was off Pirton lane, close to Sugarloaf Bridge. In late spring the fields on the lower slopes are full of buttercups.

This short series can be started at the stile close to Sugarloaf Bridge on Pirton Lane. There is no parking here but there is a free public car park near to St Andrews Church on Station Road a few minutes walk away. The 98 bus stops on Pirton Lane and in the village centre. There is also a public car park at the top of Chosen Hill from which you could also walk down to Tinker's Hill. You could also park near the Recreation Ground at John Daniels Way.

The Arm Jive Swizzle was one of my favourite moves when I first learned to dance Ceroc. Sadly it is one of the beginner moves that has been dropped from the teacher's syllabus. I'm naming this cache in memory of the move!!!

The cache is hidden at the gate leading into/out of the lower field. The area around GZ may get muddy at times. NOTE there is barbed wire close to the GZ and nettles too so please take care!! You are looking for a tube that holds a pencil and logbook. Sorry no room for swaps. Please replace very carefully exactly as found using the camouflage. Beware of muggles!
