Geocache Description:

a 'View of Hugh' is a small traditional cache located on a view point along the trail on the way to Hugh from Potter's Valley.  Views of the Turnagain Arm, Hope, the McHugh Creek Parking Area, Burnt Island, the mud flats off Potter's Marsh, Sleeping Lady, the Inlet and of course of Hugh can be had from the cache!  The cache can be approached from many directions, including from Potter's Valley, McHugh Creek or from Coyote Ridge above from Hugh!

LBK called and suggested an afternoon hike after the CITO this morning.  It was a beautiful afternoon to be outside so off we went.  We approached the cache from Potter's Valley passing GC207B7 South(pointe) Potter Ridge along the way.  We were headed up to GC3J51M Go Tell It On The Mountain.  As we started the steep part of the climb up to GC1GMQK HUGH, we came upon the spot wear this cache was placed.

The cache is a Black Mega Bison and has a Geocache Alaska trackable whistle in it for the first to find.  A Jeep trackable was also left as part of the original contents!  A real Jeep with the right person behind the wheel could make it up here!!!

This cache is placed under Chugach State Park Permit no 12-004.

This cache can be an end destination or one found along the way to others.  Make the find and enjoy the views of this part of the playground we find ourselves in known as Alaska!
