Geocache Description:

Geocaching is a sport that takes us into all types of terrains, and we go searching in all types of weather. Usually the geocaching team arrive home safe and sound, although sometimes a little worse for wear, with the occasional cut or bruise, or broken rib. Very occasionally though, this is not the case and we need a little more help to find our way home. This series looks at those people who help those who are lost or hurt, and need help in getting back to where they want to be. Hopefully you will never need to experience the reality of this help first hand.

Air Rescue
Since 1989, thousands of people throughout Canterbury and the West Coast have been successfully flown from accident sites and hospitals to critical care units throughout the South Island and further afield by three main operations - The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, based in Christchurch, the Solid Energy Rescue Helicopter based in Greymouth and the New Zealand Flying Doctor Service fixed wing aircraft also based in Christchurch.
If they can get a trauma patient to specialised care within an hour of injury, it increases their recovery chances by up to 80%. These heroes of the skies are on call 24/7, all year round. They even use night vision image technology to enhance your chances of being found quickly.

The special cache has been nicked so is now a black screw top 200ml container. If you would like to find the final for this series The Helpers: Final GC3WDQC, please take note of what you find on the log.
