Geocache Description:

A short walk from Three Shires Stone offerring magnificent Mountain vistas and the opportunity for some easy scrambling if you want it.  Linked with Crinkle Crags or a visit to Pike O'Blisco a longer more adventurous route can be undertaken.

The summit plateau of Cold Pike has three widely separated summits, all of which are listed as 'Nutalls' . There are great views of  Crinkle Crags, the Langdale Pikes and the northern end of the Coniston Fells along with a a fine distant prospect of the Pennines above Windermere and Morcambe Bay above the Duddon Valley.

From the summit decending towards Three Shires Stone, along an easy path, two pleasant small tarns are encountered. The cache is to be found in a small cave overlooking one of them. .

Cold Pike can be easily climbed via Red Tarn or more directly on a pleasant grassy path which leaves the main path before Red Tarn is reached and which meanders up the south east flank of the fell.
