Shoepole Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
For over 30 years, the Perkins Shoepole has been a local landmark. I will never forget my first glimpse of the pole while traveling with friends. "What was that? Turn around! There are shoes all over that pole!" Shoes of many different styles are nailed at various heighths along the pole - I believe my fave is the pair of wellies WAY up high. Why? No one really knows.
Cache container is micro, please make sure it is tucked back into it's home securely. Cache is located between 3.5-6 feet heigh, so no need to do anything dangerous here. Please do not park on the road, there is a field turnoff right at the cache that you may use. While there is a railroad across the road, through a ditch and up an embankment, there is no need to go anywhere near RR property. Cache is at the shoepole itself. Permission for cache hide granted by Ken Steinhoff.
