Every year several fiberglass travel trailer owners gather at Davis Mountains State Park for a fun get-together known as the "Javelina Roundup" The event got its name from the seemingly always present javelinas in the camping areas. Several members of the group are now avid geocachers and look forwrad to gathering here not only every November, but other times of the year as well.
The cache is an ammo box with a log book, a pen, and a few items for trade.The cache is located on the Hike/Bike trail that leads from Davis Mountains State Park to the Ft. Davis National Historic Site. The trail is well marked, and is only moderate in difficulty. The cache is located on Davis Mountains State Park property, and a sign just a few feet past the cache lets you know that you are entering Ft. Davis National Historic Site. If you are not into longer hikes, parking can be found 1/4 mile from the cache at N30° 35.946 W103° 54.418
