Geocache Description:

Shepherdstown is the oldest incorporated city in the state of West Virginia dating to . Many of the buildings in the town were built before the Revolutionary War.

Overlooking the Potomac River is the Rumsey Memorial honoring James Rumsey, a colleague of George Washington and the first man to pilot a steam-powered boat. If you get a chance, stop by the Historic Shepherdstown Museum at the Entler Hotel for a look back in our history and a view of the half-scale replica of Rumsey's steamboat.

Secreted in front of one of the local houses of worship within a carriage step is a small town sized geocache. The cache you are looking for is a silver bison tube containing a logsheet/stashnote combo, but no room for a stylus, so bring yer own. Please be aware of muggle traffuc at all times as this is a very busy small town.

Have fun and Happy Caching!
