A nice walk in a county forest.
Located in the beautiful Duck Egg, a Vernon county forest. This cache is an ammo can and is placed in the spot where Jerome bagged his first Tom turkey. This cache has a very special meaning to us seeing we lost our Jerome in April 2012, six days before his 20th Birthday. Along with me placing this cache was my oldest son Steven aka The Lachmans. You can thank him for the placement rating of 4 1/2. Like bagging a Tom turkey it's not easy but very doable even for the kids.. Jerome and I have walked every inch of the Duck Egg, hunting for morels, turkey and deer. He loved the outdoors and nature in general. He is missed and loved by many friends and family. This cache was placed with the permission from the Vernon County Land Manager and the cache placement form has been filed. Also I would like to note we ran into a pretty big rattle snake after placing this cache on our way back to the truck. This is the first I've seen in the duck egg but I knew the area is perfect for them. Just a heads up. There is plenty swag to trade and a little something for the FTF.
