Geocache Description:

Designed to be a park and grab but at a location where you will see one of Ashtabula County's lesser known covered bridges or novelties - enjoy!!

Ashtabula County has just completed their covered bridge festival, held every year the second weekend of October. Hundreds of people come into the county to tour the 18 registered bridges in the county, the most of any county in Ohio. These covered bridges include both the longest and the shortest covered bridges in the United States. Each of the 18 covered bridges has a geocaches located at the bridge, thanks to Jackolopejim. I thought it would be nice to put together a little series to tour some of Ashtabula County’s less popular covered bridges, the non-registered ones, also known as “novelty” covered bridges. Most of the covered bridges that are not registered are privately owned, but owners usually do not mind someone taking a picture of the bridge. Cache placement is such that there is no trespassing and being respectful of the owner’s privacy. In fact, they are basically park and grabs, with the intention to bring you to visit some of Ashtabula County’s lesser known covered bridges. Please take the time to enjoy the views. This bridge is known as Droese Covered Bridge, and listed as 35-04-i in the registry of covered bridges, with the letter designating that the bridge is a non-registered bridge. The bridge was erected in 1995, and is approximately 21’ long, and spans the pond here. Enjoy the series! Congrats steve&missy for FTF!
