Geocache Description:

Located on the top of Table Mountain in Beaver Mines Lake Recreation Area, Alberta, Canada.  At 7,000 feet above sea level, Table Mountain provides a stunning view of Beaver Mines Lake, Camp Impeesa Scout Camp, the Castle River area, and, on a good day, Pincher Creek, Alberta.

The hike up the mountain requires some stamina as the climb includes some steep sections and scree.  The trail has recently been marked with stakes and red flags to help you find your way up the mountain more easily.  Watch the mountain to your right on the way up as there is a natural salt lick - you may be lucky enough to spot mountain sheep or goats.  Chances are good you will see chipmunks and pikas - we were lucky enough to spot a marmot on the top of the mountain on one occasion!

This cache was placed  by members of our family in memory of Ed Langford on the 20th anniversary of his passing.  Ed was an avid Scout Master and spent many days hiking and camping on and around Table Mountain.  The original cache contained a poppy (for Ed, the verteran), a fly (for the fisherman), a golf ball (for the golfer), a pack of crayons (for the artist) and a tube of bubbles (for the scientist), a log book and a pencil.  Enjoy the find and remember to hang onto your hats - it gets very windy up there!
