Mutchilba is a small sleepy hamlet located along the Burke Developmental Road (Savannah Way) between Mareeba and Dimbulah. The town was established in 1923 and its name is said to mean 'Big Dead Tree'. Agritulture has always been the main-stay of this small settlement and today, the plantation of choice is the humble Mango.
Recently the town suffered the indignity of being told that they haven't existed since 1999, when the local council of the day downgraded their status from a small independant town, to a suburb of the nearby town of Dimbulah (which is a further 20 kilometres down the road)!
Hopefully soon, Mutchilba can regain its lost identity. So to help put Mutchilba back on the map, I have hidden this cache in the centre of the town. This is a drive-in, drive-out cache and you should be able to park your car right beside the GZ. Be careful of muggle activity, as the cache is located in the centre of town!
