What is Punkin Chunkin?
The World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association raises money for scholarships, as well as organizations that benefit youth and the local community. They have and annual event. GR8Caches, pictured at the right evidently stopped at one of these pumpkin-launching events. So, understanding his love for Punkin's I decided to dedicate this cache to GR8Caches.
History of Geocaching on the Bike Trail
After the Bike Trail had been open for some time, I finally to decided to start placing caches along its trail. This wasn't as easy as you would think, a new trail doesn't have that many places to hide a cache. So, it took some creativity and lots of small caches that would not easily be muggled. I figured after other cachers would join me in placing caches. Months went by and nothing. So, I gave GR8Caches a call and suggested he join me by placing caches along the trail. That was a GREAT decision!
GR8Caches has helped make this trail a magnet for geocachers. He came up with the idea of placing several different types of caches, multi's, earthcache's, letterbox, etc. He host's and annual event each fall on the trail. Now geocachers visit from many states to find some very interesting geocaches. This trail is far from being your average power trail. Every cache is unique and different. Thanks GR8Caches for making this trail a success.
The Cache
This is an appropriate cache for the occasion. It is just off the trail. Please take great care in hiding as found. This one would be easy for a muggle to spot.
Don't leave the Bike Trail without checking out the most popular cache on the trail. This cache has spent a good part of its life in the West Virgiina's Top Ten. .
Gadget Cache A VERY unique multi cache, I can guarantee you have never seen one like it before. A fun gadget greets you at stage one, and then you'll be asked to use your sense of smell to find the final stage. The stages are very close, making for a quick and fun multi. This cache has vehicle parking very nearby. The kids will love it, so will you!!
