[SE] "Lejongapet" kallas en plats på nordöstra sidan av Skärvallsberget alldeles intill Källängsstigen (Kärleksstigen på inhemska).
Platsen består bland annat av ett klippblock som liknar ett gapande lejon. Redan under 1940-talet kallades platsen för Lejongapet. På 1960-talet bebyggdes fiskebäcksböndernas ängar öster om platsen med radhus. Många nya familjer flyttade in och platsen fick många nya namn.
En varm sommarnatt 1975 bestämde sig två intillboende grabbar (min far och hans vän) att försäkra sig om att det gamla namnet "Lejongapet" skulle förevigas genom att helt enkelt måla klippblocket som ett gapande lejon. Sedan dess har det bättringsmålats ett par gånger och namnet "Lejongapet" har etablerats.
Vi vet inte vem/vilka som står bakom ommålningen, men vi uppskattar att traditionen hålls vid liv!

"Lejongapet" (The Lion’s Maw) is the name of a rock formation on the northeastern side of Skärvallsberget, right next to Källängsstigen (known locally as Kärleksstigen, or "The love path").
The site includes, among other things, a large boulder resembling a gaping lion’s mouth. As early as the 1940s, the location was referred to as Lejongapet ("The Lion’s Maw"). In the 1960s, the meadows belonging to the farmers of Fiskebäck, located east of the spot, were developed into terraced housing. Many new families moved in, and the location acquired numerous new names.
On a warm summer night in 1975, two neighbouring guys (my father and his friend) decided to ensure that the name "Lejongapet" would be preserved by simply painting the boulder to look like a gaping lion. Since then, it has been repainted a few times, and the name "Lejongapet" has become well established.
