Geocache Description:

DATE - Saturday, October 6
TIME - 8:45 - 10:00 am

October in the hills of Warren County is a beautiful time of the year, and a good time to explore some back roads.  Why not start your day visiting with fellow geocachers, with the option of a pancake breakfast (on your own) at a real sugar house, Valley Road Maple Farm, 190 Valley Road in Thurman.  They'll be serving from 9-1.

You'll be meeting old caching friends and making new ones here.  All geocachers are welcome, including newbies who are interested in learning about our favorite game, hobby, sport, obsession. As a bonus, there are some birthdays to be celebrated as well - The Deathly Hallows plus a friend of the Ferreteers on the 6th, as well as a member of the Ferreteers within a week or so.

We'll gather outside, so bring a chair if you plan to stay a while.  Dress warmly or with layers, as the weather can be cool and changeable this time of the year.  Bring your coins and trackables to trade or for discovering, and share some caching stories.
 
After the event, you can spend the day caching in the area.  As of mid-September there were over 30 active caches within 5 miles of this location with difficulties ranging from 1.0/1.5 to 5.0/5.0 to choose from. There are other caching opportunities in the town today as well. Cell service is variable in the area, but there's free WiFi at the Town Hall on Athol Road, approximately N43 29.581 W73 50.739. The nearest gas is in Warrensburg and North Creek, so fill up before you come!
