Welcome to my latest series, designed to encourage the country town of Nagambie. Nagambie is located between Seymour and Shepparton along the Golburn Valley Highway. Come and visit for the weekend, there plenty of places to stay. The best weekend is the first Saturday of each month when you can also spend some time at the farmers market. There is a Festival in March called NOW (Nagambie On Water) where all sorts of activities occur.
I was Paddling from Kirwins Bridge to Nagambie earlier this year (2012) and realised there were so many different types of birds in the general area, so I have decided to make it a bird themed series.
Dont forget to collect the number from the log sheet for the final cache of the series.
Some interesting Information about......Rainbow Bee-eater
The Rainbow Bee-eater (Merops ornatus) is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. It is the only species of Meropidae found in Australia.
