Geocache Description:

This cache hide will be simple and isn't meant to be challenging. I found this spot while walking around on my lunch break. Take a seat, enjoy the largely uninteresting view :-) and take in a piece of Lynchburg's history while capturing a smiley. ***Congrats to GreerX4 for being FTF!! :)***

Diamond Hill is one of the seven original hills of Lynchburg, otherwise known as "The Hill City". It became Lynchburg's first historic district in 1978 and is on the Virginia Register as well as the National Register of Historical Places.

Take a walk through the neighborhood and see a glimpse into Lynchburg's past. To learn more about Diamond Hill visit the Diamond Hill Historical Society's website. While you're in the area you may want to gather some info for the multi-cache "Seven Hills Two'ers" (GC2N8WH), which will take you on a tour of the city.

Since this is a residential area please be respectful and try to be as inconspicuous as possible. Park along Church St. near the YMCA or for a longer walk, park at the Community Market and start there. You can also approach this cache from Main St. but you'll have to climb several steps. There are signs posted stating the steps are closed during ice/snow so please heed that warning.

This is a micro container so BYOP. Tweezers are not required but the log is snug in the container so you may have to work a little to retrieve it. Once you're finished please replace the natural camo.
