Geocache Description:

Stage #1 IS AT POSTED COORDINATES!

A nice tricky multi-stage field puzzle for the brute-force lovers. You will have to figure out the combinations to a lock or two and sign the logbook to claim a find! Good luck!

When you secure a locker, lockbox, or a shed with a combination lock, you believe it is secure right? Well be warned that combination padlocks, just like any other locks, have weaknesses. And there are a few tricks that you can use to get them open. Perfect for if you find that rusty old padlock sitting in the drawer at home and can't remember the combo!

Now mathematically we know that there are 64,000 possible combinations but what most people don't know is by using this simple illustrated formula below you can drop that number to 100 or less. I agree it’s not the stuff that most professional lock picks have but it sure beats trying all 64,000 possibilities!

Example: Have you ever noticed that all the combo numbers are either odd or even? Never both. That drops the possibilites by half. Now work your way through the included illustration and you will be able to collect a well-earned smiley! It might help to print the picture below to take with you on your safecracking run.

That's it! Open the locks, sign the log, and claim a find. The fun part of it is that I won't need to give you the combinations, you will need to figure them out!

FTF Dollar/Mini Trophy for FTFer! FTF Honors go to spstanley and LabguyMN for a well-deserved and fast FTF! Great job guys! I'll be sure to keep you in mind should I ever need someone to break into something...hehe!

Please be sure to close the locks securely after you are done. And for fairness, please avoid sharing the combinations with other cachers if you solve them so they can experience the evilness as well. I will be changing the combos on a regular basis.

The Formula!
