SWE: Röjningen är en gård som ägs av Gävle kommun. Den ligger på skogsmark som en gång tillhörde hemmanet nr 3 i Sätra by, Hille socken, beläget vid gamla vägen norrut mot Strömsbro. Röjningens äldsta historia är ganska oklar.
Här finns i dag några hus, varav tre är gamla timmerbyggnader. Längst i väster finns ett boningshus som över ingången har ett speciellt ornament, ”det allseende ögat”, som förmodligen sattes upp då huset byggdes. Mot öster ligger ett mindre timmerhus, som lär ha innehållit ett studierum samt ett brygghus kombinerat med bagarstuga. Det tredje huset byggt av timmer är en ekonomibyggnad.
Röjningen har använts av olika skytteföreningar som hade sina målskjutningsövningar här. Klockstapeln med ”vällingklockan” användes vid markeringen och släpades varje skjutdag från sin plats ut till skjutbanorna.
En liten smedja har legat vid södra ändan av den äldsta skjutbanan bakom stugan. Den fanns kvar tills i början av 1860-talet.
Bebyggelsen på platsen har under åren ändrats en del. Skytteföreningarna har sedan länge flyttat sin verksamhet men de gamla husen finns ännu kvar. Stugan är nu en servering, ekonomibyggnaden är nu förråd och verkstad och huset med studierummet är ombyggt till vaktmästarbostad. Dessutom har en samlingslokal samt en expeditionsbyggnad tillkommit.
Sedan 1984 hyr ett folkdanslag Röjningen. Samlingslokalen rustades upp till en passande och gemytlig danslokal och invigdes den 16 mars 1985.
Vaktmästarbostaden är bebodd men det går bra att gå in på området och titta på byggnaderna.
ENG: Röjningen is a farm owned by the municipality of Gävle. It is located on forest land that once belonged to the homestead No. 3 in Sätra village, Hille parish, located at the old road north towards Strömsbro. Röjningen’s oldest history is unclear.
There are currently some houses, three of which are old timber buildings. To the west is a house that over the entrance has a special ornament, "the all-seeing eye," which probably was put up when the house was built. To the east is a small timber house, which is said to have included a study room and a brewery combined with bakehouse. The third house built of timber is a farm building.
Röjningen has been used as a place for shooting associations who had their shooting practice here. The bell tower was used as an indication and was dragged each shooting day from his place to the shooting range.
A small smithy was situated at the southern end of the oldest shooting range behind the house. It remained until the beginning of the 1860s.
The buildings on the site has over the years changed a lot. The shooting associations have moved their business but the old buildings are still there. The cottage is now a refreshment room, the farm building is now storage room and garage and the house with study room has been converted into a home for the caretaker. In addition, a meeting hall and an office building have been built.
Since 1984 a folk dance team rents Röjningen. The meeting hall was upgraded to an appropriate and cozy dance hall and was inaugurated on 16 March 1985.
The caretaker building is inhabited but it's okey to go into the area and look at the buildings.
