Calcareous sinter is a freshwater calcium carbonate deposit, also known as calc-sinter. Deposits are characterised by low porosity and well-developed lamination.
Ασβεστούχοι τήξης είναι μια γλυκού νερού ασβέστιο ανθρακικό κατάθεση, επίσης γνωστή ως calc-συσσωμάτωσης. Καταθέσεις χαρακτηρίζονται από χαμηλό πορώδες και καλά αναπτυγμένη πλαστικοποίηση.
Calcareous or calc sinter is a freshwater, which is coming from the top of the rock, calcium carbonate deposit, also known as calc-sinter (synonym travertine). Characteristical for this kind of deposit are a low porosity and a well developed lamination. Calcareous sinter is often mixed up with the term siliceous sinter, which is mostly used in the context of sinter. In order to avoid this misunderstanding it is widely accepted to use the term "sinter" only for siliceous spring deposits and do not use it for calcareous deposits entirely. Deposits are formed from either calcite or aragonite. Precipitation is brought about by degassing of CO2, which decreases the solubility of calcite/aragonite.
Ασβεστολιθικά ή calc τήξης είναι μια γλυκού νερού, το οποίο προέρχεται από την κορυφή του βράχου, κατάθεση ανθρακικό ασβέστιο, επίσης γνωστή ως calc-συσσωμάτωσης (τραβερτίνη συνώνυμο). Χαρακτηριστική για αυτό το είδος της κατάθεσης είναι ένα χαμηλό πορώδες και ένα καλά αναπτυγμένο πλαστικοποίηση. Ασβεστολιθικά τήξης είναι συχνά συγχέονται με τον όρο πυριτικά τήξης, η οποία χρησιμοποιείται κυρίως στο πλαίσιο της συσσωμάτωσης. Για να αποφευχθεί αυτή η παρανόηση είναι ευρέως αποδεκτό να χρησιμοποιούν τον όρο "τήξης" μόνο για πυριτικά καταθέσεις άνοιξη και δεν το χρησιμοποιούν για ασβεστολιθικές αποθέσεις εντελώς. Καταθέσεις σχηματίζονται είτε από ασβεστίτης ή αραγωνίτης. Καθίζηση επιφέρεται με απαέρωση του CO2, το οποίο μειώνει την διαλυτότητα του ασβεστίτη / αραγωνίτης.

Find the long stalagnat shown in picture 1 and meassure the length.
Find the chamfered egde shown in picture 2, measure it's thikness and guess how long it needed to grow.
