Geocache Description:

A straightforward traditional near the start of a nice urban forest trail north of Lytle Park in Barrhaven.
An ideal trail for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing.

The Large Woodland Bison (genus BIGGUS-AMIAT) is a close relative to the smaller Bison (genus AMIAT) typically spotted hanging out in wooded areas in the region.

Similar to it's smaller brethren, the Large Woodland Bison also takes up residence in wooded areas, but not necessarily in pine trees.

Unlike most Bisons, this one is large enough for geocoins up to 3.75 cm wide or a trackable tag with a small hitchiker.

When placed, the cache contained a stash note and a small log book. Please bring your own pen or pencil.

Depending where you park, you are looking at either a 425 meter hike or a 1.2 km hike.

An easy find without snow on the ground, but more challenging when snow is present.
Snowshoes are definitely recommended when there is sufficient snow on the ground.
