The item you are looking for contains a log and some room left over for a few small items such as Geocoins, small flat Trackables, small sized swag, and inexpensive foreign or interesting coins. There should be a small pencil inside, but bring your own writing utensil just in case.
Not usually a populated area, but can be populated during soccer and track practices & meets. The cache is well hidden, so please use stealth when searching to keep this cache from being muggled. Best times to search are weekends, and at night but beware, there may be someone lurking around nearby when you think there is no-one around.
Dress accordingly, even though there is no need to step into the water, if it has rained recently, the stream can get up to about three feet deep and your feet can get wet if you are not careful and slip. During the winter, be careful around slippery conditions.
Parking is enforced on campus 24/7.
There are a couple of public parking meters in the lot just due east of the GZ and just south of the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
When geocaching on campus, you must park in a public parking garage or visit a Pay-n-Display machine.
The Pay-n-Display pay machine allows you to park in any visitor or non-restricted A, B, or C surface space but is not valid in parking garages. You must display the receipt on your dashboard. The machine only accepts coins or credit cards.
There is a Pay-n-Display pay machine ($1.50/hr) located behind the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. From the Arboretum just south of the GZ, there is a public access gravel road that takes you about .1 miles from the GZ. Even though the cache is not located at the Arboretum, if you park at the gravel turn-around at the Arboretum, access to the road is only open from Dusk to Dawn. Also be aware that parking can be very hard to find when classes are in session during the day. Also traffic and parking can be very difficult to navigate and park during home football Saturday game days in the fall.
Be sure to:
-Bring a writing utensil.
-Search and find the cache very discreetly. Many Muggles in the area during the day.
-Log your find.
-Replace container tightly and securely in the EXACT same spot you retrieved it from.
-Drop off small trackables, trade inexpensive foreign/interesting coins & small swag if possible.
