Ballysallagh Reservior was constructed back in 1950. It's now redundant and is in danger of falling into developers hands as it's rumoured to be on NI Waters expendable list. It is currently used by local fishermen and the local wildlife. I believe it should remain as is, so that the wildlife can continue to thrive in the area.
This cache has a bit of a twist to it and might drive you round the U Bend. It's placed on a quiet country road that has only one way in and out. There is ample space to park up at GZ and there is a lovely wee bridge close by with a babbling river running under it.
The cache is fixed in position and shold not be removed from its mounting in any way. The cache contains only a log and a few mini badges for those that collect them. I didn't have a small enough pencil but when I aquire one I will pop back and place it in there.
NOTE: I am adding this paragraph to the description as some of you obviously don't read the previous logs from other cachers. I am beginning to wonder how many people have actually found this in its intended way. 1. Do not twist or pull the knuckle fittings at the end THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE REMOVED TO ACCESS THE CACHE. 2. Do not attempt to pull the cache cammo away from its mounting in any way, the ties are there for a reason....so you don't move it. 3. USE the one piece of the cammo that you actually can remove very simply.
The cache used to carry water but now it carries the log. Please replace the log to exactly the spot you found it so that the next cacher will face the challenge.
