Geocache Description:

Should be a fairly easy park and grab.  Replacement cache has been changed to a micro and only contains a log sheet, so you will need to bring your own pen or pencil. The cache is named after the tall structure nearby that can be seen for miles around the area.  When it was first built in 2005, our kids were very young and couldn't say the word correctly.  Whenever they would see it as we were driving nearby, they would yell out, "Look!  It's the Staple!"  (Thus, the name of our cache.)

History buffs might like to know that this location is the third site of this particular "establishment", which our family has frequented for more than 20 years.  Founded in 1894, attendees met in private homes and rented halls.  In 1904, the first official structure was built on the corner of Anderson Blvd. and Hamilton Streets in Geneva.  During these years, all of the "establishment's activities" were conducted in Swedish, due to the large Swedish immigrant population in Geneva at that time.  In 1933, the "establishment" began conducting its "activities" in English.  Due to growth, a larger structure was built at South Street and Kaneville Road (a little over a mile east of your present location) and the "establishment" moved there in 1961.  This location was enlarged twice, in 1983 and in 1994.  Ground was broken in 2003 for the newest structure at your present location and opened in 2004.  The location on South Street is still owned and operated by the "establishment" and regular "activities" take place at both locations.  The "establishment" plans to eventually add on to the location you are at with a large addition behind and to the east of the "staple" - as growth demands.
