Geocache Description:

Treasured Memories of Our Past
TO FORGET ONES ANCESTORS IS TO BE A BROOK WITHOUT A SOURCE ,A TREE WITHOUT A ROOT
(Chinese proverb)

This cache is placed in the Historical township of Inneston. During the 2nd world war my fathers family lived and worked here . I travel over this way at least twice a year to think of the past and the great life my family had. I still remember when the old town was lived in and the general store was up and running. My great grandparents lived behind the store and raised their youngest family members.
60 years ago this year our parents spent their honeymoon in the cottage close to GZ.
They returned there this year to celebrate their anniversary. Dad still talks about the bus trip down the pennisular after being married and catching the post van to Inneston from Corny Point. The cottage was originally lived in by Dad's uncle. Another of his uncles lived in the house which has just been finished being renovated at end of road.
It is great to see this old town being restored to some of it's former glory.

If you have the time to take a walk around this township it is well worth it.
A shame our father is not able to walk with you and tell of it's past when he was a lad back in the 1940's and living in the house  called the "Stagger Inn'
It was a tough life working the gypsum lakes and his grand parents ran the dairy and he would collect  the  milk each morning to take to the managers house
His father worked on the tramway  which ran between Inneston and Stenhouse Bay..

The tennis court and cricket pitch were his favourite places.
The carefree life we no longer have today.

Please bring own writing implement and tool maybe required to remove log.
Parking is available at entrance to township.
