The cache is placed in the area known as Llanilid Park and was once going to be the location of the Dragon Film studio and leisure complex. Th name of this cache refers to the fact it seems the complex will now never be built and the actual film studios may be sold off.
The cache itself is located near a beautiful natural pool where wildlife, flora and fauna are abundant. On a good day you may seen rabbits, herons and many a dragonfly. You are looking for a cliplock plastic box that contains a few swaps.
The History
2001: Plans were unveiled for a movie-based leisure comples and film studio in the Llanilid/Llanharan area.
2004: Work was set to begin on the film studio aspect of the project
2007: Constrution work finally began on the film studios and acess roads through the site
2008: Administrators called in to sort out a financial issue which highlighted that the project had £15m of liabilities
2009: Filming for various TV shows/Films comence but plans for further developing the site are suspended
2010: Proposed housing for the area is unveiled
2011: News that the film studios may not to be sold off are announced
Whilst plans for the whole complex have been put on the back burner the Dragon film studios do still remain in the North West portion of the site. As you walk around the area to the cache you will see the partly formed road system and if you detour down there are road signs highlighting the way to the Llanilid park theme park. What a shame it will never be built, or is it? Now that this area is covered in 'weeds' it has a rich ecosystem and would be a shame to destroy it but this 'empty' land won't stay empty for long I am sure.
