Geocache Description:

Long Wood a.k.a Bluebell Wood, come here in April and see why!

Long wood, which is locally known as Bluebell wood is a sliver of ancient woodland nestling between the M4 Motorway and the raised land created by earth dug when building the Grand Union Canal through Hanwell towards the Thames at Brentford Dock.

The site of the cache is also the site of one of the first papers mills in the UK. The large earth mounds, which the cache sits upon are thought to be the remains of a dam which was used to run the mill wheel.
