A former ROC bunker nearby.
The Royal Observer Corps (ROC) was a civil defence organisation operating in the United Kingdom between 29 October 1925 and 31 December 1995, when the Corps' civilian volunteers were stood down. There were 1536 bunkers positioned around the country, and although they have all been officially closed some are still accessible. Time and vandals have taken their toll on many of them, but those in more remote areas are often still intact; some even have their original furniture in place. ROC Peat Inn is sealed, so you can't see inside, but another of interest nearby is ROC Gauldry, and as luck would have it, there's a cache inside! ROC Gauldry - http://coord.info/GC1NQ4H The Peat Inn bunker is actually at N 56° 16.649 W 002° 52.430, but there isn't an easy place to hide a cache. Be aware that the bunker is on private land. Combat Cacheing Capers PLEASE do not attempt to find these caches until 5pm on Friday 21st September 2012 - thank you!
