Geocache Description:

A quick P&G inspired by a community tradition as well as my Girl Scout connections.

Paint the Town has been a Morrison tradition since 1994. Each artist is given five bottles of paint, a few paint brushes, a plate for mixing, and a 5'x5' space on the road in which to create whatever you want. The first year, 250 squares were available for purchase on Main St. As the years have passed, the day has grown and this year, there were 1800 squares available up and down Main, Genesee, and Market Streets. The streets are blocked off for two days for easier viewing, but the artwork can be seen as long as it lasts (through rain, traffic, and the like!) From the cache location, you will be able to see many of these squares, hopefully for a few weeks, but at least once per year!

The Girl Scout connection is simple - with the new "Girl Guides to Girl Scouting," there is a large emphasis on letterboxing/geocaching/hiking in the badgework. Our newest Brownie troop is using this to explore their world around them and will be hunting caches in town. I placed this new cache in honor of them as well as all the Girl Scouts in the country!
