Preston puts the P in Panoramic View Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Roland Rush: The owners have since put up a gate to prevent people from driving up the dirt road. It's really a great view, but you will need permission from the owners to go up there.

Geocache Description:

A family friendly cache that leads to a wonderful view of Preston and Cub River Valley

When my family moved to Preston from California, I was less than enthusiastic about it. But after doing some exploring of the area I was blown away by this location. It is truly a gorgeous view! It overlooks the city of Preston and the Cub River Valley. You can also see the giant P for Preston from this spot.

I was able to get there with a 4x4 truck the first time I went. It is up an unpaved road so the terrain is too rough for a sedan, but not too bad for an off road, 4x4 capable vehicle (I have also been there in a Mitsubishi Montero and a Chevy Trailblazer). It would also make a pretty hike. The unpaved road goes right to the cache, which is feet from the road. If you are going in the winter, a snowmobile would be more practical. Idaho is famous for its breathtaking nature, rolling mountains, and gorgeous sunsets. You will see what I mean when you see this great panoramic view.

Take a picture and post it for the rest of us to see! It would be fun to see the different seasons and sunsets!

The cache is fairly easy to find and is in a container the same size of a mini M&M container.
