A P&G designed to bring you to one of Ashtabula County's covered bridges that are not registered. Make sure you visit the 18 registered covered bridges in the county as well.
Part of a mini series to show you some "novelty" or unregistered covered bridges in Ashtabula County. All of Ashtabula County's registered covered bridges have a geocache on them thanks to Jackolopejim, so make sure that you visit all 18 registered covered bridges in the county.
Ashtabula County has just completed their covered bridge festival, held the second weekend in October every year. Hundreds of people come to tour Ashtabula County's 18 registered covered bridges, which include both the longest and the shortest covered bridge in the country. I thought it would be nice to have a series to visit some of Ashtabula County's non-registered covered bridges (also known as "novelties").
Most of these covered bridges are private, but owners typically do not mind anyone taking pictures of them. Cache placement is such that there is no trespassing on private property, and the hides are typically P&Gs, so take the time to enjoy the views offered and the scenery on these back roads of Ashtabula County. Please respect the privacy of the owner's of the covered bridges, but if you are a "bridger", well, you do your thing...
This covered bridge is listed as Chutas Covered Bridge, was built in 1977, and is approximately 18 feet long. It spans a tributary of Phelps Creek.
There is another surprise for you if you go 0.6 miles north and look to your right!
Congrats Peacewv1965 AND Farmgirl4266 for FTF!
