A well known and popular walk along Thurso River.
Starting from the entrance to the park at the main road bridge through town, the Mall heads up river to the new foot bridge, across and down the other bank. Easy going walking on good footpaths, suitable for all abilities.
The Mall dates from Victorian times but the new foot bridge was completed in 2009 after the old one washed away during a flood in 2006. You can still see the remains of the middle pier of the old bridge in the river. The new bridge is quite a size, going across the river in a single span.
Keep an eye open for herons and otters, two fishers who share the river with us humans (Or do we share it with them?).
The cache is a small box, so only small things inside.
