This marker is two sided with the side that greets visitors coming into the village on Rt. 12 depicting the FIRST amphibious assault of the Civil War. A very well done pictogram. The other side of the memorial lists the names of the Hatteras NC troops killed during the Civil war and other wars. As I was staying just across the road for my yearly week at this end of the isle, I felt this spot just needed a cache! PLEASE PUT IT BACK WHERE YOU FOUND IT!!!!!! I made it a 2.5 because of muggle activity!!!!!!! Hope you enjoy!
