This cache was orininally placed for the the First State Challenge 2012 sponsored by Delaware Geocachers! Although the challenge has ended, this cache is still available to be found!!

FSC-2012 Old Zion Cemetery (Port Penn)

Cache Details:
Located on the road from Rt 13 to Port Penn and hidden in an old cemetery. Please be respectful of the area. The cache is hidden in the back of the cemetery not near any gravestones.

Description:
You will see all that remains of an old African-American community named CongoTown that once used to stand in this area. A church and a segregated "colored" school once stood near this site as well.

Old Zion Cemetery has graves dating from the days of the Civil War, to the early 2000s. Enjoy your visit to a part of Delaware's forgotten history
